JOB UPDATES FROM THE MAINE DEPARTMENT OF LABOR
Week of June 21, 2021
MAINE’S BACK TO WORK PROGRAM
Maine has launched a program that enables employers to provide one-time incentive payments to people they hire through July 31, and who were on unemployment the week ending May 29.
This program will help businesses that sign up for the program, by supporting a retention payment to eligible newly hired employees of $1,500 for jobs that begin in June, or $1,000 for jobs that begin in July. The newly hired employees must work at least 35 hours a week, at less than $25 per hour.
CareerCenter Consultants are available to assist you in a job search, including registering on the Maine JobLink, helping with resumes and cover letters, or finding free training.
