Gov. Evers Appoints Yadira Rein as Outagamie County Circuit Court Judge

MADISON — Governor Evers announced today his appointment of Yadira Rein to the Outagamie County Circuit Court. The appointment fills a vacancy created by Judge Gregory B. Gill, Jr.’s election to the Court of Appeals, District III. She will serve a term ending July 31, 2022.

“The people of Outagamie County and Wisconsin deserve judges who apply the law fairly and equally,” said Gov. Evers. “Yadira Rein will do just that. Her experiences and values will make her an excellent judge for the people of Outagamie County.”

Rein is currently an Attorney at McCarty Law, LLP in Appleton, and a leader in the legal community in the Fox Valley. Her practice focuses on family law matters, including divorce, custody and placement, child support, and paternity, as well as guardianships and guardian ad litem appointments. She also has experience with personal injury law working for other firms in Appleton.

“It is with great pleasure that I learned of Attorney Rein’s appointment to the position of Outagamie County Circuit Court Judge Branch IV,” said Judge Gill. “I am incredibly happy not only for Attorney Rein, but also for the citizens of Outagamie County. Attorney Rein brings a wonderful understanding of the law and respect for its role in our society. She also brings with her a wealth of experience and perspective which is critical to ensuring the just and equitable application of the law.”

“I am truly honored and humbled to have been selected by Governor Evers to serve the people of Outagamie County as circuit court judge,” said Rein. “I am committed to maintaining the integrity of our judicial system by treating every individual with respect, each case with impartiality, and upholding the rule of law by imparting justice to all.”

Rein is likely the first person of color to serve as a judge in Outagamie County. Rein is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Madison and the University of Wisconsin Law School. A headshot of Rein is available here.
