What’s New in Performance Reporting

A–F Accountability

As an accountability system reset is scheduled for implementation in August 2023, Performance Reporting plans to maintain a largely unchanged system for 2022. However, Senate Bill 1365 requires a Not Rated label for 2022 unless the district or campus earns an A, B, or C.

Accountability advisory groups will continue to meet this fall to discuss any minor changes necessary for the system. Final decisions on changes to the 2022 system will be released in early 2022. To view advisory group meeting materials and summaries, visit the 2022 development webpage.

Local Accountability System

The Local Accountability Guide and Frequently Asked Questions provide information about plan requirements and example components. Both documents can be found on the local accountability webpage.

Districts wishing to learn more about the local accountability system and how to develop a district local accountability plan can participate in a 45-minute overview webinar with time for Q & A.

Registration links are available for upcoming webinar dates in August and September. The timeline for districts wishing to develop a local accountability plan is posted on our webpage and the Notice of Interest form will be available in September.

Assessment Scoring and Reporting

As mentioned in previous communications, the deadline to submit correction requests, including changes to student identification information, Public Education Information Management System (PEIMS) ID, and County-District-Campus codes, score code and language changes, rescores, resolutions, and any scoring investigations for STAAR to the ETS Support Center was July 31, 2021. Requests outside of this corrections window will not be processed.

As a part of the contract transition, ETS will be providing all necessary State of Texas Assessments of Academic Readiness (STAAR®), STAAR Alternate 2, Texas English Language Proficiency Assessment System (TELPAS), and TELPAS Alternate score data to CAI. Any districts that would like to retain copies of their individual district results for STAAR should download those results from the Reports > Results in the Assessment Management System prior to August 31, 2021. Please note, CAI cannot generate updated STAAR Report Cards.

For questions or help with accessing and interpreting STAAR results, districts and parents can email assessment.reporting@tea.texas.gov or call (512) 463-9704.

Did You Know?

The 2022–23 Public Education Grant (PEG) List was published yesterday. The PEG program permits parents of children assigned to attend schools that earned an F rating in both the Student Achievement and School Progress domains to request a transfer to other schools or other districts. As all campuses were labeled Not Rated: Declared State of Disaster for 2020 and 2021, the 2019 ratings are used to determine eligibility. To learn more about the PEG program, visit our PEG webpage.
