2021 Accountability Data Available in TEAL

Texas Education Agency Updates

To the Superintendent Addressed:

The 2021 accountability data tables and student listings, which provide the unmasked data used to calculate domain raw scores, are now available in the Texas Education Agency Login (TEAL) Accountability application. Please note that the data in these reports are confidential.

Accountability Data Tables and Student Listings

Accountability data tables and student listings are available for all campuses and districts that received a Not Rated: Declared State of Disaster rating label, including registered alternative education campuses and charter schools that are evaluated under alternative education accountability provisions. The data tables and student listings contain the data used to calculate each of the three domains.

Use of 2021 Accountability Data

Information gleaned from the data helps pinpoint areas where students need accelerated learning opportunities. Similarly, participation data provides demographic information about who did and did not take the STAAR in light of COVID-19 learning conditions and should be considered in context when reviewing the results. While direct comparisons with STAAR data from previous years may not be appropriate because of varying participation rates and shifts in instructional settings due to COVID-19, the data provide an important temperature check that allows Texas districts to track and address student recovery in the short and long term.
