Direct Payments - Shropshire Council
Now live - A new website all about direct payments in Shropshire.
It provides information for all stages of involvement with direct payments from initial information, to help and advice on current direct payments, and information for personal assistants and employers.
From January 2022 we will start to put more updates and advice on the website in the Newsroom section so the most up to date information will be available online. We will still contact you directly with important notifications.
If you have comments or suggestions please get in touch with us at direct.payments@shropshire.gov.uk or ask to speak to one of direct payments team via First Point Of Contact on 03456789044.
Get boosted now
Shropshire Council is supporting the national drive to offer every eligible adult a COVID-19 booster vaccination by the New Year to help stop the spread of the more infectious Omicron virus variant.
Details of walk-in clinics in Shropshire where you can get booster jabs and vaccinations are here
Other support already in place:
- A special transport offer for people, particularly those who are most vulnerable, who cannot get to their booster appointment
- Later this week it will be increasing opening times at its walk-in vaccination facility in the Darwin Centre in Shrewsbury and open this at least six days a
- Our 5 Ways to Winter Wellness campaign aimed at keeping people physically and mentally well this winter.
Peer support
Some of you have told us how helpful you find the opportunity to speak to other people with direct payments and people employing personal assistants. We know that this peer support works best without involvement from the Council to make it easier to share openly with others.
We recommend contacting the Good Boss Support Network (Good Boss Support Network | Facebook) who meet online and run a Facebook page dedicated to supporting each other. The group is a safe, friendly, supportive, and respectful space where people can share information, thoughts, feelings, worries, and experiences without any fear. It is also space where advice is given, and suggestions are made and where privacy and confidentiality are respected. They are entirely separate to the Council.
If you have any comments or suggestions, please get in touch with us at direct.payments@shropshire.gov.uk.
