Beginning Again...
I think most of us approach a new year through the lens of optimism. It is a time to pause, reflect, resolve and begin again, with each new beginning bringing the opportunity to adjust our course and seek a better outcome.
I think we can all agree that this last year has been turbulent. It has been a time of extreme uncertainty, catastrophic events, devastating losses, moving goalposts and targets, and heated tensions. This has been true of our nation, our state, our county and even, at times, our own Board. That said, I am indeed optimistic. We have all been severely tested and yet we are standing strong. I am looking forward to taking lessons learned and using them to be a little kinder with each other. To be a bit more tolerant and a whole lot more respectful. To recognize that common ground is still present in differing viewpoints and be committed to finding it to move our community forward.
We have something special here in El Dorado County. May 2022 reflect our heart for each other and for this beautiful place we call home, and may it be a year of blessings for your family and friends. Happy New Year. And so we begin...
The Board of Supervisor's meeting will be virtual for the next few weeks as a result of new guidance from the California Department of Public Health and in accordance with Government Code § 54953(e).
The meeting will continue to be live-streamed via Zoom and YouTube. Members of the public may address the Board via Zoom to make a public comment. The public should call into 530-621-7603 or 530-621-7610.
