Dear Washingtonians,
This week, we opened four COVID Centers in Wards 1, 2, 7, and 8, and four more will open in Wards 3, 4, 5, and 6 next week. COVID Centers are places you can go to get vaccinated or boosted, to get a PCR test, or to pick up free rapid tests. All sites will be open six days a week as late as 9:00 p.m., and sites will rotate off days so that on any day of the week multiple COVID Centers will be open across DC.
All four sites will be open tomorrow from 10:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. So, if you still need to get vaccinated or if you need to get boosted or tested, visit your closest COVID Center and you can get it all done in one place. These sites are also places where children 5 and older can get vaccinated (and all people 12 and older can get boosted). If your children are not yet vaccinated, I encourage you to watch the video below of Dr. Henderson Boyd sharing her experience with a young patient.

 Reminder: Restaurant Week continues through Sunday, January 23! Similar to Summer Restaurant Week, Winter Restaurant Week is a week-long promotion of dine-in experiences as well as the RW-To-Go dinner meals and cocktail pairings that diners have grown to love.
Participating restaurants are offering multi-course brunch and lunch menus for $25 per person and multi-course dinner menus for $40 or $55 per person for on-premises dining. Many restaurants are also offering RW-To-Go dinner meals, available at two price points: $70 or $100 for two people and $140 or $200 for four people. Remember that for indoor dining in DC, people 12 and older need to show proof of at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine and people 18 and older also need to show matching photo identification. Learn more at VaxDC.dc.gov.

 On Monday, January 24, Mayor Bowser will cut the ribbon on the new 801 East Men's Shelter. In July 2021, Mayor Bowser launched Homeward DC 2.0, the District’s updated plan for making homelessness rare, brief, and nonrecurring. Homeward DC 2.0 builds on DC's progress in ending family homelessness, with a strong focus on realizing similar progress with unaccompanied adults.
The new 801 East Men's Shelter represents the District's commitment to ending homelessness for single adults. The shelter is a six-story, 396-bed facility that includes a day center with essential client services, a low-barrier shelter with housing-focused case management, a health clinic and medical respite program, and more.
