No-contact advisory issued for Eagle Harbor and Wing Point area due to discharge of partially treated sewage
No-contact advisory in effect through Wednesday, Feb. 2.
Affected area: The east shoreline of Bainbridge Island, from Pritchard Park to Yaquina Avenue, including all of Eagle Harbor.
Signs will be posted at public access points.
Advisory: A no-contact advisory is in effect through Feb. 2.
During a no-contact advisory, the public is advised to avoid contact with water in the affected area. The Health District recommends against swimming, wading, or types of water recreation that could cause water to be swallowed or get into the mouth, nose or eyes. People should also avoid direct skin contact if possible, and immediately wash with soap and clean water if they have exposure to the water.
The public is advised to not harvest shellfish in the affected area during the no-contact advisory. Always check the shellfish safety map before you harvest
