Help to stop nuisance phone calls
Help is on hand for your elderly and vulnerable residents to stop them being targeted by fraudsters.
Our West Sussex Trading Standards team is offering to install call blocking devices free of charge to help stop nuisance calls.
The devices are proven to block up to 98% of nuisance calls.
Relatives, carers or friends can also apply on behalf of West Sussex residents who meet the criteria.
To qualify for a call blocker residents need to:

County Local Forum sessions
Your residents have an opportunity to meet their local county councillors this March in the second round of County Local Forum sessions, and ask any questions they have on county council-related business.
The County Local Forum sessions will run on the following days:
- Tuesday 1 March, 5pm to 6pm: Chichester County Local Forum at the Grange Centre, Midhurst
- Thursday 3 March, 7pm to 8pm: Crawley County Local Forum at Crawley Library
- Monday 7 March, 7pm to 8pm: Worthing County Local Forum at Worthing Library
- Tuesday 8 March, 7pm to 8pm: Arun County Local Forum at Littlehampton Library
- Thursday 10 March, 7pm to 8pm: Mid Sussex County Local Forum at Haywards Heath Library
- Monday 14 March, 7pm to 8pm: Horsham County Local Forum at County Hall North, Horsham
- Tuesday 15 March, 7pm to 8pm: Adur County Local Forum at Lancing Library.
Each session will cover issues from across the district or borough area as a whole.
If your residents are unsure of which County Local Forum they need to attend, they can use the search tool on our website for ‘district and borough councils’ where they can type in their postcode to find out.
To attend a session or ask a question, residents should email talkwithus@westsussex.gov.uk or sign up via Eventbrite.
Anyone who would like to ask a question is requested to email at least five working days before the planned session, as having the questions in advance will help ensure they can be answered fully in the meeting.
Anyone who isn’t able to attend the sessions, but would still like to ask a question, can email and officers will ensure a response is sent back.

Living with Covid-19: message from West Sussex Director of Public Health
As Covid-19 restrictions in England are easing, West Sussex Director of Public Health Alison Challenger is thanking residents for efforts made in protecting our communities during the pandemic.
The government has announced that legal requirements to comply with restrictions end today (Thursday 24 February).
However, the pandemic isn’t over yet, and in her message, Alison is asking residents to continue to follow the simple and easy health protection measures, in line with national advice, to protect ourselves and each other.
Please help share Alison's message within your communities and networks.

Shaping the future of adult care
Your feedback is helping to shape the future of adult social care services across West Sussex.
‘The life you want to lead’ is the name of our new strategy which outlines five priorities we will focus on to support residents.
The priorities reflect the responses to our public survey, workshops, group discussions and one-to-one interviews held between September and December last year. They will inform our decision making on adult social care issues.
