County Executive Rushern Baker, February 3, 2016

Masthead

SNOW RECOVERY: At long last, the historic Blizzard of 2016 is over! During our recovery stage we focused on over 1,800 miles of county-maintained roadways to return them to passable condition. We want to thank our hardworking employees, contractors and military personnel who helped clear our County streets and roads, responded to emergency calls, answered phones and kept residents updated with the latest information. We appreciate residents adhering to the message to stay off the roads while the storm was in progress. We are a resilient County comprised of caring people who went out of their way to help neighbors by shoveling driveways or walkways and bringing them food during the inclement weather. Thank you for the difference you made. We also heard your concerns about the aftermath of the storm and our challenges getting plows to your neighborhoods. Your comments are always of paramount importance. This has indeed been a teachable experience that will help guide our efforts for future snow storms. Your patience is appreciated and we aim to provide optimal services to you in all circumstances and in every facet of government.
