What is Metrc?

Metrc is the provider for Oklahoma's statewide seed-to-sale inventory tracking system. OMMA licensees must use Metrc to track all medical marijuana and medical marijuana products grown, processed, transported, tested, sold or disposed of within the state.

All licensed businesses must be Metrc-compliant by the May 26 deadline.

Getting Started in Metrc

As you prepare to get started with the Metrc credentialing process, we wanted to draw your attention to two helpful guides.

The Next Steps guide provides instructions for signing up for training, getting credentialed with Metrc and more.

Once you're ready to set up your beginning inventory, the Beginning Inventory guide walks you through how to do it. All licensees must complete the process by the Metrc implementation deadline on May 26.

We have included these guides and more training information on our website's seed-to-sale page.

Important Dates

Tuesday, May 3 - Friday, May 6
OMMA and Metrc are hosting five free educational seminars from Tuesday, May 3, through Friday, May 6, that you can watch online or attend in person in downtown Oklahoma City. Registration is limited by capacity for in-person or online attendance, but recordings will be available for anyone who can't attend.

The seminars will be based on license types: growers, dispensaries, processors, transporters and waste facilities. There will be another seminar later for laboratories.

More information on seminars' schedule, location and registration will be available in future emails from OMMA, on our seed-to-sale webpage, and on Facebook and Twitter.

Find more information on required and optional Metrc training here.

Thursday, May 26
This is the last day for all OMMA licensees to become Metrc-compliant.

Wednesday, June 15
This is the monthly reporting deadline for activity May 1-31. All commercial licensees must continue all monthly reporting using the OMMA Monthly Reporting Template for activity through May 31. Metrc will fulfill all monthly reporting requirements for all tagged activity after May 31. Read more here on the Monthly Reporting section of our seed-to-sale page.

Monday, July 25
Every OMMA licensee must sell, transfer or dispose of medical marijuana or medical marijuana products tested outside of Metrc (i.e., the lab didn't put the testing results directly into Metrc), or have it re-tested inside of Metrc, by this date. July 25 is 60 days after the implementation deadline.

Wednesday, Aug. 24
Dispensaries have until this date (90 days after the implementation deadline) to sell or legally dispose of untagged inventory. Dispensaries, transporters and waste disposal facilities must continue using the Monthly Reporting Template for any untagged sales, transports and waste disposal through Aug. 24. Read more here in the Dispensary, Monthly Reporting and FAQ sections of our seed-to-sale page.

FAQs

How much does Metrc cost?
Metrc is $40/month per license, not per user. Additionally, Metrc charges $0.45 per plant tag and $0.25 per wholesale package tag.

How do I get started in Metrc and sign up for training?
The owner or key administrator of each commercial license is required to take Metrc's New Business class to become credentialed in Metrc. Licensees can use the Metrc scheduler to sign up for New Business training, offered each weekday. The class is also offered on demand through Metrc Learn in your Metrc account. When you complete the training, reach out to Metrc's Support team to get credentialed.

Can we use other software with Metrc?
Yes. Metrc offers an open API that allows other software platforms to integrate into Metrc.
