ACT

Training: “The ACT Test and Your Data” 

  • The Wyoming Department of Education (WDE) has partnered with ACT to provide training on ACT data. Five 3-hour training sessions will be available at four locations across the state from September 26-30, 2022.
  • Registration is open to ACT District Test Coordinators (DTCs) and Test Coordinators (TCs) until May 15, 2022, when registration will open to all other staff who will benefit from ACT data training. Registration is limited to one session per participant.

WY-ALT

EDUCATORS NEEDED: WY-ALT Content and Fairness Review

  • The WDE seeks Wyoming educators to participate in the WY-ALT Content and Fairness Item Review Committee meetings (ELA, Math, Science). 
  • Meetings will be held virtually the week of June 20, 2022. 
  • All applications must be submitted no later than 11:59 p.m. on May 26, 2022 to be considered.

EDUCATORS NEEDED: WY-TOPP SCIENCE REVIEW COMMITTEE

Science Rubric Validation, Content/Fairness Review, and Data Review

  • Wyoming educators are needed to review science assessment items, along with educators in other states that are part of our multi-state collaborative, for the following three events:
    1. Rubric Validation is scheduled May 23-27 and May 30-June 3. Participants will make recommendations regarding the scoring of the items and potential adjustments to the rubrics.
    2. Content and Fairness Review is tentatively scheduled for June 27-July 1, or August 1-5, or August 8-9. Participants will evaluate assessment items for content alignment and potential accessibility or bias issues.
    3. Data Review is tentatively scheduled for August 22-26 or August 29-September 2. Participants will review the assessment data and item content to identify any issues with the item.
  • To be considered, complete this form by 11:59 p.m. on May 13, 2022.

WY-TOPP

Appropriate Use of WY-TOPP Scores

  • WY-TOPP results are used to help evaluate a school’s strengths and weaknesses and to produce a school performance rating.
  • WY-TOPP scores have no direct effect on student grades. 
  • WY-TOPP scores should not be used for punitive or exclusionary purposes.

Student Not Tested Form (SNTF)

  • It is the responsibility of the District Test Coordinator (DTC) to ensure all students complete statewide testing.
  • In the event a student does not complete all or any portion of the test, the DTC must complete and submit this form to the WDE.
  • Student Not Tested Forms are due by May 17, 2022.
