The Metrc Compliance Deadline is HERE!

Metrc2

THE METRC COMPLIANCE DEADLINE IS TOMORROW, MAY 26.

EVERY commercial licensee must be fully Metrc-compliant on or before May 26. On May 27, if you are not Metrc-compliant, you are subject to administrative action.

Metrc is the provider for Oklahoma's statewide seed-to-sale inventory tracking system. OMMA commercial licensees must use Metrc to track all medical marijuana and medical marijuana products grown, processed, transported, tested, sold or disposed of within the state.

Visit our webpage to learn more about how to bring your business into compliance. Below, you’ll find information on how to get started in Metrc, some important dates to remember and information about license surrenders.

Getting Started in Metrc

As you prepare to get started with the Metrc credentialing process, we wanted to draw your attention to two helpful guides.

The Next Steps guide provides instructions for signing up for training, getting credentialed with Metrc and more.

Once you're ready to set up your beginning inventory, the Beginning Inventory guide walks you through how to do it. All licensees must complete the process by the Metrc implementation deadline on May 26.

We have included these guides and more training information on our website's seed-to-sale page. We've recently added a PDF that has a comprehensive list of frequently asked questions you can use as a resource. If you're on a desktop, you can use Ctrl + F to do a keyword search. If you're viewing the document from a smartphone, you can use the search functionality of whichever PDF reader you're using.

Important Dates

May 26: This is the last day for all OMMA licensees to become Metrc-compliant. On May 27, if you are not Metrc-compliant, you are subject to administrative action.

June 15: This is the monthly reporting deadline for activity May 1-31. All commercial licensees must continue all monthly reporting using the OMMA Monthly Reporting Template for activity through May 31. Metrc will fulfill all monthly reporting requirements for all tagged activity after May 31. Read more here on the Monthly Reporting section of our seed-to-sale page.

July 25: All existing inventory must have test results in Metrc. A licensee can add the testing lab name, sample number and tests passed to the notes section, or ask the lab to enter the Certificate of Analysis (COA) in Metrc. Anything not meeting one of those standards must be re-tested and the new COA needs to be entered into Metrc.

Aug. 24: Dispensaries have until this date (90 days after the implementation deadline) to sell or legally dispose of untagged inventory. Dispensaries must continue using the Monthly Reporting Template for any untagged sales and waste disposals through Aug. 24. Read more here in the Dispensary, Monthly Reporting and FAQ sections of our seed-to-sale page.

Surrender of License

On May 27, commercial licensees that are not Metrc-compliant – whether operational or not – are subject to administrative action.

To avoid this, commercial licensees have the option to surrender their license and cease ALL medical marijuana business activity by May 26. If you wish to surrender your license, please follow the steps below:

  1. Visit our licensing portal.
  2. Choose "Access portal" to log in.
  3. Once logged in, select "Business Portal."
  4. Click "Select" next to the appropriate business profile.
  5. Click "Manage Business" next to the appropriate business license.
  6. Choose "Surrender License."
  7. Follow the prompts to permanently surrender your business license.
