What’s New in Performance Reporting

A–F Accountability

2022 Accountability Development

The 2022 Campus Comparison Groups are now available on the 2022 Accountability Rating System webpage. Campus comparison groups are used to award distinction designations, which will be publicly available on August 15, 2022. Distinction designations are awarded for achievement in several areas and are based on performance relative to the campus comparison group.

Please contact us at performance.reporting@tea.texas.gov or 512-463-9704 with any additional questions.

Local Accountability System

The Local Accountability System Notice of Interest for districts wishing to participate in the local accountability system is available online. Districts submitting a form will be contacted for follow-up discussions.

Participating districts may wish to develop a plan during the summer of 2022 that is then applied to the 2022–23 school year. We also support districts that are using the 2022–23 school year to develop a plan for application to the 2023–24 school year.

An updated Local Accountability System Guide and Sample District Plan are now available on the local accountability webpage. Both provide information about plan requirements and example components.

Districts wishing to learn more about the local accountability system and how to develop a district local accountability plan can participate in a 45-minute overview webinar with time for Q & A.

Webinar registration links for June are below. Webinars will also be offered in July and August.

Monday, June 20 @ 11 am

Wednesday, June 22 @ 3:30 pm

Assessment Scoring and Reporting

June 2022 STAAR Administration

Test Materials Shipment

Test materials for the June 2022 State of Texas Assessments of Academic Readiness (STAAR®) administration were delivered to districts. These should have been received by June 14.

Report Cards and Confidential Student Labels

Printed report cards are not available for the June STAAR administration. Districts will receive printed Confidential Student Labels unless they opt out of receiving labels by June 24. Districts may opt out of receiving labels through the Score Reporting and Label Requests module in the Test Information Distribution Engine (TIDE).

System Updates

As a reminder, TIDE, the Test Delivery System (TDS), and the Centralized Reporting System (CRS) will be offline between August 15 and August 21, 2022, to complete a system rollover for the 2022–2023 school year. Please be sure to download any data files prior to August 14, 2022. All systems will be back online on Monday, August 22, 2022.

Data Corrections

Districts can resolve student information and submit score code changes for the April and May 2022 STAAR EOC administrations from June 13–17, 2022. Changes submitted during this window will be reflected in updated reports that will be provided on July 13, 2022. Any updates made after this window will be included in scheduled updates and will not be reflected in reports used for accountability.

  • Resolve student information – the spelling of a student’s name, the student’s date of birth, and student’s gender can be updated through the View/Edit/Export Student, Upload Student Information module in TIDE by the district or campus coordinator.
  • If a student is not reported in the correct district or campus, the district coordinator should contact Texas Testing Support to update the information.
  • Score code changes – to submit a score code change, districts should select the “Change Score Code” option under Request Type in the Appeals/Score Codes module in TIDE.
  • Rescore appeals – district testing coordinators can request a rescore of the English I or English II assessment constructed response item. Districts can submit the rescore appeal in the Appeals/Score Codes module in TIDE. Districts will be invoiced $50.00 per rescore if the score does not change. Districts should submit a Purchase Order in the comments with the appeal for invoicing by Pearson.

For questions or assistance regarding the information in this communication, contact Texas Testing Support at 833-601-8821, TexasTestingSupport@cambiumassessment.com, or via live chat at TexasAssessment.gov.

This Week’s FAQ (This remains our top FAQ of all time!)

If a student is enrolled in a district for the October snapshot, then tests in May in another district, where does that score get reported for accountability?

If a student does not meet the accountability subset as s/he moved districts, the result would not be included for either district. If the student moves campuses, but remains within the same district, the result would be included for the district but not for either campus. The student must test in the same campus/district as the October snapshot in order for their result to be included. If the student does not meet district subset, then the student will not count for either district; that result would be rolled up into state accountability calculations.
