The Florida Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) South District and the Florida Rural Water Association invite you to join a virtual discussion on drinking water and its distribution system.

Agenda

Drinking water infrastructure: Is your water corrosive, scale-forming or stable?

The presentation will center on how to use critical water quality parameters such as pH, alkalinity, TDS and hardness in order to assess a drinking water system’s finished water stability and identify its corrosive or scale forming potential. Corrective actions for waters with a high potential for corrosivity will also be discussed.

Presented by:
Patty Baron, Environmental Specialist III, Drinking Water Program, DEP South District

Understanding the calculations of the Langelier Index and corrosive water elements

Presented by:
Stan Epperly, State Water Circuit Rider, Florida Rural Water Association

About DEP Linkups

DEP Linkups are meaningful platforms for connectivity that encourage information sharing among stakeholders, regulated communities, local businesses and government agencies. Our meetings support the department’s mission to protect Florida’s natural resources together.

By providing this regular program, DEP offers attendees the opportunity to learn, network, and share information with guest speakers who provide channels for expert discussion with our regulated and non-regulated community.
