What’s New in Performance Reporting

A–F Accountability

Final 2022 College, Career, and Military Readiness (CCMR) Student Listing

Column L (EB/EL Status) of the Final 2022 CCMR Student Listing was updated on Monday, August 1. Emergent bilingual students/English learners who were year five in U.S. schools were incorrectly reported as M (monitored). The updated listing removed the M (monitored) label from these students.

If you have questions, please contact the Performance Reporting Division at (512) 463-9704 or performance.reporting@tea.texas.gov.

2022 Accountability Manual and Administrator’s Guide

The adopted version of Chapters 1–11, all appendices, and the 2022 Administrator’s Guide are now available. A summary of changes to Chapters 1–11 from proposal to adoption is also available.

2022 Consolidated Accountability File (CAF)

The testing contractor provides TEA, ESCs, and school districts with a CAF, which contains all performance results as well as all demographic and program information for every student. Accountability calculations are based on the CAF. The 2022 CAF will be posted to the Test Information Distribution Engine (TIDE) inbox today.

The CAF is a large, complex data file. Specialized software is required to view it. Users may download the relevant data file format, which describes each field in the file. Alternatively, districts may choose to wait to view student-level data in the accountability student listings, which will be released on Monday, August 8.

Local Accountability System

The Local Accountability System Notice of Interest for districts wishing to participate in the local accountability system is available online. Districts submitting a form will be contacted for follow-up discussions.

Participating districts may wish to develop a plan during the summer of 2022 that is then applied to the 2022–23 school year. We also support districts that are using the 2022–23 school year to develop a plan for application to the 2023–24 school year.

An updated Local Accountability System Guide and Sample District Plan are now available on the local accountability webpage. Both provide information about plan requirements and example components.

Districts wishing to learn more about the local accountability system and how to develop a district local accountability plan can participate in a 45-minute overview webinar with time for Q & A.

Assessment Scoring and Reporting

June 2022 STAAR Administration

Preliminary student results for the June 2022 State of Texas Assessments of Academic Readiness (STAAR®) online and paper tests for English I and English II are available in the Centralized Reporting System (CRS).

Reporting Updates

Cambium Assessment, Inc. (CAI) posted updated STAAR Alternate 2 and Texas English Language Proficiency Assessment System (TELPAS) Alternate data files and student report cards (SRCs) to district inboxes on Monday, July 25, 2022. All districts received an updated data file—even if no updates or changes were submitted. Updated SRCs were only provided for students if a score code or score change occurred as a result of the updates requested by districts. Updates in these files are not part of the statewide accountability files. Updated data files for December STAAR end-of-course and TELPAS administrations will be posted before August 10.

Training Opportunities

The Learning Management System (LMS) will have a new organization system this year, with training modules categorized as before, during, and after testing activities. New training modules will be posted in LMS in the upcoming weeks. The Technology Requirements Overview training module is designed to help technology staff understand system requirements for using CAI platforms. The What’s New training module will be available on August 19 and will highlight new and redesigned features in the Test Information Distribution Engine (TIDE) for the 2022–23 school year.

Cambium System Updates

As a reminder, TIDE, the Test Delivery System (TDS), and CRS will be offline between August 15 and August 21, 2022, to complete a system rollover for the 2022–23 school year. TIDE File Layout Updates

Updated TIDE file layouts for the 2022–23 school year will be posted on the Texas Assessment website as they are finalized. These files may only be used for uploading information into TIDE after August 22, 2022. The scheduled posting dates are as follows:

  • User Upload on August 15

TIDE User Role Updates

During the week of August 8, district superintendent and district testing coordinator roles in TIDE will be updated to match those listed in AskTED. Districts should ensure information is updated and accurate within AskTED by today. If a user is a district coordinator in TIDE but is not listed as the district coordinator in AskTED, that user’s role will be converted to a district testing assistant.
