Texas Education Agency Updates

To the Superintendent Addressed:

The official 2022 accountability ratings, data tables, and reports are now available in the TEA Login (TEAL) Accountability application.

Appeals must be postmarked by September 12, 2022.

District Responsibilities

  • Public Meeting. With the August 15 release of the 2022 ratings on the public accountability website, campus-level planning and decision-making committees must schedule a public meeting to comply with Texas Education Code (TEC), §11.253(g), which requires each committee to hold at least one public meeting after the release of accountability ratings to discuss campus performance and performance objectives.
  • Rating Consequences. The Texas Education Agency’s Division of School Improvement will communicate with districts to outline future state, district, and campus actions, where applicable, resulting from these accountability ratings. Districts and campuses with questions about school improvement requirements should contact the School Improvement Team at their regional ESC. Other questions may be directed to the Division of School Improvement at (512) 463-5226.
  • Notice on Website and in Student Report Cards. Districts are required to publish accountability ratings on their websites and include the rating in student report cards.

Districts must

  • by the 10th day of the new school year, post on the district website the most current accountability ratings and the most recent performance reports, and
