“For far too long, the newest and best technologies originating in College Park were leaving Prince George’s County for other jurisdictions. We are hoping that FlexEl is the beginning of a change in that trend. On behalf of the residents of Prince George’s County, I welcome FlexEl to Prince George’s County and congratulate them, the University of Maryland, and the City of College Park on this successful development and game changing technology that will impact the world from right here in Prince George’s County."--County Executive Baker at the opening on April 8 of  FlexEl's new facility in College Park. The company was built based upon a thin film battery technology in 2008. FlexEl won the Maryland Incubator Company of the Year award in 2010.

“It’s going to be very definitive,” developer Jon Peterson said. “The day they open, life around here will change.”

“All of a sudden in the Washington menu is gaming through a great resort like MGM,” he said. “They will bring entertainment that has never been here. Tell me the last time there’s been a boxing match in the Washington area.” More...
