Any type of food can be linked for foodborne illness outbreaks but certain types of food are more associated with foodborne illnesses and food poisoning. These are call Potentially Hazardous Foods (or Time & Temperature Control for Safety Foods). These are foods that need to be kept refrigerated and handled carefully to reduce the risk of illness.
