CAREER DEVELOPMENT FACILITATOR COURSE

The WDE is offering the Facilitating Career Development Courses that provides the best practices for career planning in multiple settings and for all ages. This course will support the implementation of a more robust career development program in all Wyoming schools, and to ensure consistency in the delivery of content and current tools in career development.

Course completers will receive a certificate, and are eligible to apply for the Global Career Development Facilitator Credential and certification as a Career Services Provider. School staff, counselors, administrators, and teachers whose roles will include coordinating career development and exploration programming in their respective schools are encouraged to attend. The orientation and course closing require live attendance via the Zoom online platform. The spring 2023 schedule:

  • Zoom Live Orientation: Monday, February 6, 2023. 
  • Zoom Live Closing: Monday, April 24, 2023. 
  • Course duration, with weekly check-ins: February 6-April 24, 2023. 
  • The fee for this course is $320.

NOMINATIONS NOW OPEN FOR “SEE ME TEACH CTE”

“See Me Teach CTE” is an opportunity for  students who have been identified by a Career and Technical (CTE) teacher as an ideal candidate to teach (CTE) to participate in a day of exploration. The Nominee should demonstrate an interest in the field of CTE education such as Family & Consumer Sciences, Construction trades, Computer Science, Business and Marketing, Agriculture, Automotive, Health Sciences, etc. 

Each Nominee will be recognized with a certificate and a lapel pin. Students who are nominated will be invited to spend Saturday, April 1, 2023, with their parents on the University of Wyoming School of Education campus. Students will be able to attend informative breakout sessions focused on exploring being a CTE educator, tour the campus, meet with University faculty, participate in an awards luncheon to celebrate their  "See Me Teach CTE" nomination and receive tickets to a UW event that evening.  

Requirements for nominations are:

  • Students should be a junior or senior status in Spring of 2023.
  • Student nominees must be enrolled or have been enrolled in a CTE course.
  • One district can have multiple nominations, however there should only be ONE nominee per CTE teacher.

Nominations will close on February 1, 2023. Selections will be made and notified by February 15, 2023.  Nominate a student here
