AUTHORING TOOL

Item Authoring Tool is Now Available 

  • Reference the Wyoming Authoring Condensed User Guide to begin creating and sharing assessment items for all 10 content areas of Wyoming Standards.
  • The items will align to the Wyoming Content and Performance Standards or the Wyoming Extended Standards.
  • The full Wyoming Authoring User Guide is also available for detailed information about using the Authoring Tool. 
  • The Authoring Tool is located in the “Before Testing” column of the Educators section on the Wyoming Assessment Portal.

ACCESS/ALT-ACCESS

NEW Test Material Ordering Process

  • Test materials will be automatically ordered for all Active English Learners (ELs) based on the information provided in the October WDE684 submission.
  • If new Active EL students enroll between November and January, test administrators can order materials during the additional test materials ordering window from January 4, 2023-February 17, 2023.
  • Materials will be shipped to district offices and separated by school. In some instances, rural schools will have materials shipped directly to the school. DTCs and BCs must confirm shipping addresses in WIDA AMS by October 14, 2022.

Pre-Testing Training Available

  • Pre-Testing: Technology Installations Part 1
    • This webinar provides instruction on how to configure a Central Office Services Configuration and installation of Central Office Service Devices if needed. Join here at noon on October 11, 2022.
  • Pre-Testing: Technology Installations Part 2
    • This webinar provides instruction on how to configure a Central Office Services Configuration and installation of Central Office Service Devices if needed. Join here at noon on October 13, 2022.
  • Pre-Testing: Test Scheduling - ACCESS
    • This webinar provides instruction on how to schedule testing, group students, time the tests, schedule practice tests, and schedule a room. Join here at noon on October 18, 2022.

WY-ALT

SAVE THE DATE: WY-ALT Test Administrator (TA) Training

  • All WY-ALT TAs must attend an online training session in order to administer the WY-ALT assessment. Three sessions will be available.
    • 9 a.m.-noon on Thursday, January 19, 2023.
    • 9 a.m.-noon on Monday, January 23, 2023.
    • 1-4 p.m. on Thursday, January 26, 2023.
  • WY-ALT TAs must also complete the Test Administration Certification course before administering the assessments.
  • The registration site will be available soon.

WY-TOPP

2022-23 Braille Survey for All Districts

  • The Wyoming Department of Education (WDE) requests all districts to respond to the Braille Survey by October 5, 2022.
    • If there are no Braille readers in your district this year, please mark that option on the survey.
    • If there is more than one Braille reader in your district, please complete a separate survey for each Braille reader in your district.
  • The survey requests information about the type(s) of Braille students use to access the statewide assessment system.

  • The WDE has updated the Test Security web page with monitoring information for 2022-23. 
  • New templates and sample documents have been added for districts to use in preparation for test administration.
