KDE announces 2022-2023 CTE Showcase mini-grant opportunity

(FRANKFORT, KY) – The Kentucky Department of Education’s (KDE's) Office of Career and Technical Education (CTE) has issued a mini-grant application for the fiscal year 2022-2023 CTE Showcase. Kentucky public school districts must apply on behalf of individual schools. The mini-grant can be found on the CTE Showcase Mini-Grant Application.

United We Learn: Empowering Kentucky Career and Technical Education invites schools to celebrate February as CTE Month. The Association for Career & Technical Education annually promotes February as CTE Month to celebrate the value of CTE and the achievements and accomplishments of programs across the Commonwealth.

KDE is pleased to make funding available under the Elementary and Secondary School Emergency Relief fund. This opportunity will be competitively available for 20 schools to showcase high-quality CTE programs through sharing displays of innovative projects explaining the benefit of learning as a result of CTE and career and technical student organizations.

The showcase will take place on Feb. 21, 2023, at the Kentucky State Capitol, from 1 to 4 p.m. ET. Displays will be set up around the mezzanine level for legislators, invited guests and the general public to tour the displays and speak with the students.

A second opportunity for schools to share their displays will take place at Kentucky School Board Association's Annual Conference on Feb. 24, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. ET at the Galt House Hotel in Louisville.

A district/school shall use the funding to support transportation, substitutes for teachers and additional materials or equipment to support the display.

The deadline for all applications is Nov. 11 at 4 p.m. ET. All applications must be emailed to Lynda Jackson
