ASSESSMENT WINDOW PREPARATION

Scheduling Your Assessments

• Each statewide assessment should have a documented schedule for when it will be administered.
• Assessment best practices for ACCESS, ALT-ACCESS, WY-ALT, and WY-TOPP should be followed.
• Testing should take place early in each window to allow time for technical difficulties and make-up testing.
• Each subject or domain of the assessment should be administered on separate days.
• Plans for make-up testing should be included.
• Each schedule should include all of the information that can be found on page 9 of the Assessment Security Guide.

ACCESS/ALT-ACCESS

Test Administration Preparation

• Test Coordinators should reference the following documents when preparing to administer the ACCESS for ELLs and Alternate ACCESS for ELLs assessments:
  • Wyoming ACCESS for ELLs Checklist.
  • WIDA Non-Disclosure and User Agreements.
  • Wyoming Test Security Agreement.
  • Wyoming Assessment Security Guide.
• Assessment administration schedules must be created prior to the assessment administration window.
• Test Security training for staff must be conducted prior to the administration window. Use this optional template to create a training slide deck.
• Create and have a Test Security and Statewide Assessment Administration Procedures Manual available to all assessment administration stakeholders. Use this template to create the manual.

WY-TOPP

New Lexile and Quantile Videos

• Lexile and Quantile measures are present on the WY-TOPP report that parents receive.
• Your district also may be receiving these measures from an interim assessment.
• This video, created by MetaMetrics and Learning Heroes, will help parents understand and utilize these measures to help reinforce student learning at home.
• The video is also provided in Spanish.

Writing Scoring Workshop FAQ

• The Wyoming Department of Education (WDE) has put together a list of questions and answers that arose during the Writing Scoring Workshops in October.
