ATTENTION STATEWIDE ASSESSMENT COORDINATORS

WY-TOPP, WY-ALT, ACCESS for ELLs, ACT/WorkKeys, and NAEP Coordinators

  • The most updated assessment related requirements, assessment item review committees, and assessment professional development updates are communicated through the Wyoming Department of Education (WDE) Assessment Newsletter.
  • All educators involved with coordinating assessment preparation activities or administering statewide assessments should subscribe to the Assessment Newsletter.

TEST SECURITY TRAINING

District-Level Assessment Security Training

  • All staff members (e.g., District Test Coordinators, Building Coordinators, TAs, Proctors, Custodians, Secretaries, Behavior Specialists, Lunch Aides, etc.), whether directly or indirectly involved in state assessments, must be fully trained in assessment security.
  • WDE provides a Template Slide Deck that districts and schools may use to structure this training.
  • This training should be held before testing begins in your district or building. This includes ACCESS, ALT-ACCESS, WY-ALT, WY-TOPP, and ACT testing. 
  • Reference the Wyoming Assessment Security Guide (page 6) for all of the Assessment Security Training requirements.

ACCESS/ALT-ACCESS

Secure Materials Tracking Report (SMTR)

  • The SMTR allows test coordinators to track all ACCESS for ELLs test materials provided to a school or district, as well as the status of the materials once they are returned and processed at DRC.
  • The SMTR will update daily.

Testing Material Ordering Process

  • Test materials for the ACCESS for ELLs and ALT ACCESS for ELLs will be automatically ordered for all Active English Learners (ELs) based on information provided in the October WDE684 submission.
  • If new Active EL students enroll between November and January, test administrators can order materials during the additional test materials ordering window from January 4-February 17, 2023.
  • Accommodated test forms may also be ordered during the additional test materials ordering window.

WY-ALT

WY-ALT Test Administration Training Registration

  • The spring 2023 WY-ALT TA Training Registration is available and will remain open until Tuesday, January 10, 2023.
  • No additional requests for registration will be taken after registration closes. 
  • The WDE recommends having at least one staff member trained, per campus, to administer the WY-ALT assessment to prepare for a possible late enrollment of an ALT test taker.
  • All spring 2023 Alternate Assessment Test Administrators (ALT-TAs) must attend a WY-ALT training this year. Additionally, all spring 2023 ALT-TAs must complete the online Test Administrator Certification Course.
