2021–22 Texas Academic Performance Reports (TAPR) Now Available

Texas Education Agency Update

To the Superintendent Addressed:

The 2021–22 Texas Academic Performance Reports (TAPR) for your district and each campus in your district are now available on the TEA public website in PDF form. The TAPR Glossary, TAPR Guidelines, and data downloads are also available. The TAPR Glossary contains definitions and methodologies for all items found in the TAPR. The TAPR Guidelines are intended to help districts fulfill their legal responsibilities regarding the TAPR and annual report of their educational performance.

A batch PDF version of the reports including all campuses in a district are available through the Texas Education Agency Login (TEAL) Accountability application. The data are masked in TEAL and on the public website; you may release the TAPR as provided on TEAL to the public. The agency does not produce unmasked versions.

About the TAPR

The PDF version of the TAPR includes only major data points and is designed to allow districts to fulfill their public notification requirements while the Texas Performance Reporting System (TPRS) provides additional data in a comprehensive system and is updated on a rolling basis as data becomes available. The TAPR will not be mailed to districts, but it can be saved or printed directly from TEAL or the TEA public website.

Statute requires that each district’s board of trustees hold a public hearing to discuss the district’s annual report within 90 calendar days of receiving the PDF TAPR. Holiday breaks do not count toward the 90 days. Within two weeks following the public meeting, each district must widely publish its annual report, including posting it on the district website and other public places.

If you have questions about these reports, please contact your ESC or the Performance Reporting Division at (512) 463-9704 or performance.reporting@tea.texas.gov.

Thank you.
