Kentucky Department of Education’s Classification Appeal Committee will hold a special meeting Jan. 11

(FRANKFORT, KY) –The Kentucky Department of Education’s (KDE's) Classification Appeal Committee will hold a special meeting Wednesday, Jan. 11 at 9 a.m. ET.

In accordance with 703 KAR 5:240: Accountability administrative procedures and guidelines, schools may submit a written appeal of a final accountability classification to the commissioner of education within 45 days after the Department of Education officially releases its accountability classifications. In Section 7, it states that the commissioner of education will appoint a committee to review the pending appeals and make recommendations to the commissioner of education as to whether or not to dispute an appeal. The committee includes a teacher, parent, principal, district assessment coordinator, superintendent and counselor.

The in-person meeting will be held at KDE Conference Room 516, 300 Building at 300 Sower Blvd, 5th Floor, Frankfort, Ky 40601.
