Local Superintendents Advisory Council to meet virtually Jan. 31

(FRANKFORT, KY) –The Local Superintendents Advisory Council (LSAC) will meet virtually on Jan. 31 at 9:30 a.m. ET. The majority of LSAC members plan to attend in-person at the Kentucky Department of Education (300 Sower Blvd., Frankfort, KY 40601).

Mandated by KRS 156.004, the council is to "advise the chief state school officer and the Kentucky Board of Education (KBE) concerning the development of administrative regulations and education policy. The chief state school officer shall submit all proposed administrative regulations and educational policies for review by the council before seeking approval of the Kentucky Board of Education."

LSAC is comprised of 11 members appointed by the Legislative Research Commission. Seven members represent each of the state's Supreme Court districts, and four members serve the state at-large. The council’s meetings usually are held on the Tuesday of the week before each regular KBE meeting.

Members of the public may watch the meeting in-person in the State Board Room or a livestream of the meeting will be available on the Kentucky Department of Education Media Portal.
