- Applications are being accepted from high school juniors and seniors in the classes of 2023 and 2024 to represent Wyoming at the 2023 National Youth Science Camp (NYSCamp).
- Two students from each state, Washington, D.C., and select countries will attend the all-expenses-paid program, June 19-July 12, 2023.
- Hosted in Monongahela National Forest in West Virginia since 1963, the NYSCamp is a residential science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics (STEAM) program designed to honor and challenge some of the nation’s rising STEAM leaders, and provide them with opportunities to engage with STEAM professionals and participate in exciting outdoor activities.

- The Presidential Awards for Excellence in Mathematics and Science Teaching (PAEMST) are the highest honors bestowed by the U.S. government specifically for K-12 Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics (STEM), and/or Computer Science teachers.
- Teachers may apply to be considered for the award until the deadline on February 6.

- The Wyoming Stewardship Project’s Spring Virtual Educator Workshop is open for enrollment. Complete at your own pace between February 13 and March 31, 2023. Learn about curriculum that teaches grade 2-5 students how to be stewards of Wyoming’s resources. Enroll here.
- The National STEM Scholar Program selects 10 teachers for an all-expenses paid professional learning opportunity May 28-June 3, 2023 in Bowling Green, Kentucky. Apply here by February 1, 2023.
- The Shell Science Lab Regional Challenge recognizes exemplary approaches to science lab instruction with prize packages for lab makeover, equipment and professional development. Apply here by February 17, 2023.
- The University of Wyoming is seeking 45 Wyoming elementary teachers in grades 3-5 to participate in a National Science Foundation-funded science education professional learning program, STEM STRONG.
- Participants will receive an annual stipend of $1,600 for each of the 2023-24 and 2024-25 school years, with an additional $100 stipend for any study activities in 2025-26.
- Teachers will also receive a small materials stipend for classroom supplies to support the implementation of an engineering lesson.

ACTE and NASA HUNCH are hosting a student competition recognizing CTE and project-based learning. The competition will provide students the opportunity to showcase the application of CTE in high-demand, 21st century careers on Earth, as well as in space. Learn more.

Wyoming Agriculture in the Classroom Bookmark Competition. To showcase their understanding and appreciation of Wyoming’s essential resources, students from grades 2-5 may submit a bookmark illustrating this year’s theme: Stewardship of Wyoming Resources. Entry deadline is February 10, 2023.

American Dream Essay Contest. This contest has impacted the lives of Wyoming students for more than 20 years. Students are eligible to receive cash winnings at the local and state level. Essays are due February 27, 2023.

Regional Science Fairs began in January, and required ISEF paperwork for SRC/IRB review is due by February 10, 2023. - Big Horn Middle School will host a Regional Final for students in elementary and middle school in the International Academic Competitions on April 1, 2023. The competition focuses on Geography, History, and Science. Teachers can learn more and set up an account here.
- The Book Love Foundation seeks teachers who demonstrate a passion for promoting enthusiastic reading. Grants for classroom libraries or book clubs are available with an application deadline of March 1, 2023. Learn more/apply here.

Random Acts of Kindness (RAK) Week is February 13-19, 2023. Request your RAK Week Kit here. Customized for elementary, middle, and high schools, each kit includes stickers, kindness ideas, and a RAK Week Bingo card. Be sure to coordinate with others in your school if you are requesting an entire school kit.
- The Cokie Roberts Research Fund for Women’s History will award up to $12,500 to support annual fellowships for applicants to perform new research at the National Archives to elevate women’s history. Applicants must be mid-career historians, journalists, authors, or graduate students. The application window is open and will close on April 11, 2022. Learn more here.

- The Wyoming Book Awards program, sponsored by the Wyoming Library Association and the Wyoming State Literacy Association, provides the opportunity for Wyoming youth in grades K-12 to select a favorite book and honor its author.

- The 2023 Presidential Primary Sources Project (PPSP) is under way and presents the opportunity to virtually transport your students to places that helped shape our nation's presidents' lives. PPSP sessions will feature interactive discussions and use primary source documents to understand our nation’s presidents.
- A free professional event on teaching with primary sources from the Library of Congress and other resources will be offered from 9 a.m to 3:30 p.m. on February 4, 2023. It is open to teachers of Social Studies, ELA, or gifted students. Register here.

Free Educator Resources on the Vietnam War are available from the History & Legacy Branch of the United States of America Vietnam War Commemoration.
- The Bill of Rights Institute offers a free resource for grades 9-12: The Plainest Demands of Justice: Documents for Dialogue on the African-American Experience, a seven-lesson resource for high schoolers. It utilizes primary source analysis from critical periods in African American history to explore the efforts to realize the Founding principles of liberty, equality, and justice for all.

C-SPAN Classroom's webpage offers resources for teaching civics and government. The website is designed to enhance social science curriculums by providing teachers with brief video clips of C-SPAN programming. Bell Ringers can be used as an icebreaker at the start of class, an in-class activity, or a homework assignment introducing a new topic.
- The Freedoms Foundation at Valley Forge is offering in-person teacher seminars and workshops in Pennsylvania throughout the summer of 2023. Topics include Frederick Douglass, Constitutional History, Medal of Honor Legacy: Cold War, Women in American History, Abraham Lincoln, and more.
