Enhanced Community Testing in Moston and Harpurhey
Extra testing is now taking place in north Manchester after a new variant of COVID-19 was detected. While it is perfectly normal for viruses to mutate over time, it is very important that residents in the area take steps to get tested. For full details of enhanced testing, and if you live in one of the affected postcode areas, visit our website.
Have your say on the city’s future
The Budget is one of the most important aspects of how Manchester is run. It determines how much is spent on social care, street cleaning, tackling homelessness and much more. The Council is running a consultation until 21 February and is looking for as much feedback from the public as possible.

In 2020, the Council adopted its Climate Change Action Plan, setting out how it would halve its direct emissions by 2025. In this video on Twitter, Executive Member for Environment, Planning and Transport, Councillor Angeliki Stogia explains what has been achieved over the past 12 months.

Shape the future of Piccadilly
Piccadilly is one of the most recognisable and important spaces in Manchester’s city centre, and its future is something we all need to be involved in. After the Council announced the area would be undergoing a redevelopment, a consultation was launched, and we are eager to know what the public thinks.

Public Art consultation – what needs to change?
It is important that everyone in Manchester feels that the elements making up the city represent them. With this in mind, the Council committed to reviewing its public artworks to make sure no one is left out, and so the proud and diverse history of Manchester is reflected.
A consultation is running until 22 March, and we would like to hear from as many residents as possible. Click here to have your say.
Don’t get left out online
To make sure everyone can get the most out of the internet, Manchester Central Library is running online inclusion courses to help anyone get to grips with going online.
Including everyone in the 2021 census
The census takes place in March 2021. It’s a survey that takes place every ten years and gives us a picture of all the people and households in the country.
It helps plan and fund public services such as transport, education and healthcare. By taking part and encouraging others to do the same, you’ll help to ensure you and your community get the services you need.
More information is sent out nearer the time, and there will be plenty of help to take part for people who need it.
