Tomah VA Healthy Living Message - Focus on Vaccinations

Hello, as the August healthy living message reminded us, vaccination is one of the best ways to protect yourself, your family, and your community. Tomah VA Medical Center has multiple opportunities for you to receive your flu shot such as during your scheduled appointment or at one of these walk-in vaccine clinics.

Walk-in Flu Vaccine Clinics are open September 23rd through November 29th. Vaccines can also be administered during scheduled appointments.

There are times when VA may not have vaccines available or you are more readily able to go to a local VA Community Pharmacy for your flu and/or COVID vaccine(s). Here is more information on this option.

  • Veterans can use VA Community Pharmacies to receive their COVID and Influenza vaccinations without a referral.
    • Use this link here to find VA Community Pharmacies: Find VA Locations | Veterans Affairs
    • Next, fill in your location
    • Under Facility Type: select Community Pharmacies (in VA’s network)
    • Select Search

The search will provide pharmacy addresses and phone number. Please call the pharmacy before you go to ensure the pharmacy has the vaccine available. Be sure to show your VA ID and tell the pharmacy you are a Veteran registered for VA care requesting to receive your flu and/or COVID vaccine(s). Your vaccination should automatically update into your VA medical record, but it is always helpful to mention the vaccination(s) to your care team.
