** Clarification: An appointment under a Pathways Internship is intended to continue through completion of education and work requirements.
Pathways Interns qualify based on their educational achievements.
For the GS-03 grade level: Completion of 1 full academic year of post high school study.
PROGRAM COMPLETION AND CONVERSION ELIGIBILITY:
Upon successful completion of their academic program and the Internship, Pathways program, interns may be converted to a permanent GS position in the Competitive Service consistent with agency needs, academic achievement, and demonstrated potential. Conversion potential for this opportunity is a GS 343- 5/7/9/11/12 up to the full performance level of GS 12. However, future budgetary events, hiring restrictions, conversion caps, or other events may preclude the conversion or conversion to a position with the full potential performance level. Individuals converted to a position in the competitive service may be subjected to participation in an agency formal development program.

In addition to meeting the specialized experience requirements, qualified applicants must also possess the quality of experience as it relates to how closely or to what extent an applicant's background, regency of experience, education, and training are relevant to the duties and responsibilities of the announced position. Candidates must clearly demonstrate the possession of knowledge, skills and abilities, or competencies necessary to successfully perform the work of the position at the appropriate level to be qualified for the position. Applicants must describe how their experience meets the competencies within the body of the resume. No separate statements addressing KSA's or competencies are required.
To be creditable, education must have been obtained in an accredited college or university. You must report only attendance and/or degrees from schools accredited by accrediting institutions that are recognized by the U.S. Department of Education
