Oakland, CA – (Nov. 21, 2017): Oakland International Airport today forecast an 8 percent increase in 2017 Thanksgiving holiday passenger traffic.  The Airport said it’s bracing for an estimated 450,000 travelers from Nov. 17 through Nov. 27.

The busiest travel day will be Nov. 26, the Airport said.  About 51,000 people will fly in or out of Oakland on that Sunday.  Airport officials advised passengers to arrive two hours early for domestic departures, three hours for international flights.

“We’ve seen passenger growth in Oakland every month for nearly the past four years,” said Port of Oakland Aviation Director Bryant L. Francis.  “With our track record and the data we’re receiving from airlines and other partners, it’s shaping up to be another busy holiday season.”

TSA officials indicate that the agency expects a 5% increase overall at US airports, over last Thanksgiving.
