Fire Update - 12/12/17, 2:30 p.m.

The Thomas Fire has burned 234,200 acres and is at 20% containment with 6,946 fire personnel working to put out the fire. There’s a red flag warning until 8:00 p.m.  The fire continues to burn above Carpinteria and Toro Canyon and grew 1,000 acres last night.  Winds are expected to be similar to yesterday.   Poor air quality continues.  A community meeting will be held at daily 4 p.m. at San Marcos High School, 4750 Hollister Avenue.

Air quality information can be found on APCD’s website here.  We understand there are technical difficulties today, but they are monitoring and the air quality is listed as unhealthy.

Please remember to:

·         Reduce your power consumption by unplugging and turning off unused devices. Power outage information can be found on Southern California Edison's website.

·         Conserve water to help firefighting operations.

·         Put off doing ash clean up or using leaf blowers until the air quality is improved.
