#OETC20 Call for Playground Proposals:

The Ohio Ed-Tech agencies are seeking individuals that would like to facilitate one, two-hour playground session on any of the Playground Topics located here. As facilitator, you will provide a hands-on activity or short, informal talk about an aspect of the Playground Topic. You may feature a Playground Topic resource, lesson, software, technology, or combination thereof. This is similar to a poster session, only you will have a small high-top table in which you can display a laptop(s) (you must provide your own) or bring materials if you would like to have attendees create their own project. Conference attendees will typically spend 5-10 minutes at each table to gather information, ideas, and resources. Activities should be planned accordingly.

Playground Proposals are due Sunday, December 15, 2019 by 11:59 p.m.

#OETC20 FREd Talks/FREd Talks Jr.

A FREd (Finding Real Education) Talk is a five-minute presentation about a topic relevant to the practice of education within the guidelines of the #OETC20 tracks. The talk should be to the point without any non-critical information. PowerPoint slides are required and should be limited to 15 seconds per slide and a maximum of 20 slides. Slides will auto-advance during the presentation, so timing is imperative for the presenter.

FREd Talk proposals will be peer-reviewed and presenters will be notified of their proposal status beginning the first week of January. A limited number of FREd Talks will be scheduled during the featured session each day of the conference. The remaining accepted FREd Talks will be presented during a one-hour FREd Talk session.

A FREd Talk Jr. is a smaller scale version of a FREd Talk designed for students in grades 7-12. FREd Talk Jr. presentations are 3-5 minutes in length and topics should fall within the guidelines of the #OETC20 tracks. Presentation slides are required and are limited to 15 seconds per slide and a minimum of 12 slides to a maximum of 20 slides. Slides will auto-advance during the presentation.

Accepted FREd Talk Jr. presenters will be assigned a FREd Talk mentor that will help student presenters prepare for #OETC20 throughout the month of January.

A limited number of FREd Talk Jr. presentations will be scheduled during the featured session each day of the conference. The remaining accepted FREd Talk Jr. presentations will be presented during the one-hour FREd Talk session.

The deadline for FREd Talk submissions is Friday, December 20, 2019 by 11:59 p.m.
