Time for bedding plants

Spring Bank Holiday is traditionally the time to plant up your summer pots and baskets. 

Buy your bedding plants from us and you will be in good company!  Our Nursery grows bedding for neighbouring local authorities and others further afield - as far away as Lytham St Anns - as well as producing the plants for Nottingham's famous floral displays.

Bedding plants in pots are priced at £1.50 each.  Favourites include fuchsia, geranium, petunia, begonia, verbena, diascia, calibrachoa, bacopa and brachycombe.  There are standard varieties as well as trailers for spectacular hanging baskets.  

Our expert staff will be pleased to give advice.  You can even choose your plants and have a unique basket or planter made for you while you wait - or choose from our range of ready-made baskets.   

Grow your own feast

Salad, fruit and veg plants are a practical option for hanging baskets and planters.

Packs of salad plants at just £2.99 are a good investment.  Pick just what you need, when you need it.........no more bags of salad leaves rotting in the bottom of the fridge!

Whether you are a new grower or have bags of experience, come along to our Grow Your Own day on Saturday 10 September.  There will be a wide range of activities including free workshops with the Royal Horticultural Society. More information soon.

Perennials..... and plenty more

Perennials are a great way to introduce long-lasting and sustainable colour to your garden. Choose a variety of different leaf shapes, heights and textures for added interest.

Our range of herbaceous plants includes Primula beesiana (Candelabra Primrose) as well as Sedum, Lupin and Lychnis - all £3.99 per pot.

Why not try......

The Chokeberry (Aronia prunifolia) - a bargain at £7.49. This deciduous shrub has a blossom-like flower, good autumn colour, and clusters of black, red or purple berries that may attract the birds.  It grows to 2m tall in the garden but could be equally happy in a large planter on the terrace.

We have a wide range of beautiful pots (the one pictured in the foreground is from the Botanics range, priced at £29.99). We also stock a selection of hanging baskets including rope cones (£4.49).

A great range of compost!

Woodthorpe Park Plant Shop is proud to be the local supplier of SylvaGrow award-winning peat-free compost, the only product of its kind endorsed by the Royal Horticultural Society.  It's £7.99 per 50 litre bag and is ideal for containers or for using direct as a growing bag.

The shop also stocks a full range of compost and sundries such as fertiliser and water retaining gel.  The experienced team can give advice as well as assistance with carrying heavy items.
