HWY 287 Closed Near Oxford due to Fatal Crash

HWY 287 closed in both directions just south of Longmont

Boulder County, Colo.On Friday, August 11, 2017 at approximately 2:14am, the Boulder County Communications Center received reports of a serious crash involving two vehicles on Highway 287 just north of Oxford Road in unincorporated Boulder County, just south of the City of Longmont. Upon the arrival of medical personnel and deputies from the Boulder County Sheriff's Office, they discovered that two people involved in the crash were deceased.

At this time, we do not have information on the identities of the deceased individuals, the cause of the crash, or if drugs or alcohol were involved. The victims were a male and female and were the drivers of the two vehicles. They were the only victims involved, as they had no passengers.

Troopers with the Colorado State Patrol are responding to investigate the crash. They have also called for assistance from the Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) to help with a total closure of Highway 287 at the north and south ends of the crash scene. The highway is expected to be closed for at least the next four hours.
