Oh baby, It's cold outside!  Check out our nation's museums. 

 

Let's face it, the month of February is COLD in the DMV.  However, there are still fun ways to enjoy this area indoors.  Consider spending time at our nation's museums.

Air and Space Museum

When: February 15, 2020 at 10 a.m.

Ride Simulators: Take an exciting virtual trip on board one of two simulators. Choose your adventure: Ride aboard the Space Shuttle to the International Space Station or experience the thrill of a flight in both vintage and jet-age aircraft. For more information, click here.

 

National Museum of African American History and Culture: Engineering STEM Day

When: Saturday, February 22, 2020 11 a.m.-3 p.m.

To help celebrate National Engineering Week, NMAAHC will highlight the long lineage of African American engineers. From the earliest people of African descent using their knowledge of rice cultivation to the newest generation of technology prodigies and inventors, the contributions of African Americans to the nation’s prosperity, history and culture are significant. This program will introduce our visitors to the world of engineering and share how African Americans have shaped and influenced the world. For more information, click here.

 

American Indian Museum

When: Saturday, February 29, 2020 form 10 a.m.-4 p.m.

The interactive, family-friendly imagiNATIONS Activity Center provides visitors of all ages with a multitude of unique learning experiences. Native people have always used the natural world around them to meet their needs, and today many of their innovations and inventions are part of daily life for millions worldwide.
