Notice of Funding Availability for new modular affordable housing projects serving homeless-at-entry populations

The Department of Commerce’s Housing Finance Unit announces a Stage 1 Notice of Funding Availability (NOFA) for new MODULAR affordable housing projects serving homeless-at-entry populations for a minimum of 50 years.

Stage 1 applications are due to the Department of Commerce by 5 p.m. on Nov. 18.

The Stage 1 applications received in response to this solicitation will assist Commerce to plan how to award funds appropriated for MODULAR housing projects in the 2019 Capital Budget- Substitute House Bill 1102, Section 1029(1)(b).

Commerce will not make funding decisions based on Stage 1 applications we receive.

Stage 1 applications will be used to create an informational list of MODULAR affordable housing projects from eligible organizations who are seeking construction funding. These projects will provide affordable housing for a minimum of 50 years to those who are homeless-at-entry. The list will be made public on Commerce’s website.

Please download and carefully review the 2019 Modular Housing Notice of Funding Availability (NOFA) for specific information regarding funding requirements and priorities, the process for submitting an application and dates of significance. The NOFA and application materials are also available on the Applying to the Housing Trust Fund website.

The Housing Trust Fund team held a webinar on Sept. 5 to discuss the proposed funding timeline and collect feedback on the draft of the NOFA above. Participants of the webinar had the opportunity to ask questions and seek clarifications on the funds available for this NOFA.
