Michigan Bear Forum set for Dec. 7 in St. Ignace

All are welcome to attend. The purpose of this meeting is to discuss bear management and regulations for the 2020-2021 regulation cycle, while assessing 2019 harvest statistics.

Department of Natural Resources Wildlife Division staff members will provide an overview of long-term harvest statistics, population estimates, research and season updates, and trend indicators for each bear management unit. DNR staffers also will be available after the meeting to answer additional questions.

This annual meeting provides an opportunity to engage with a wide array of stakeholders and others who have an interest in Michigan bear management, including those representing various sportsmen’s clubs, the U.S. Forest Service, the agricultural community and nonaffiliated bait and hound hunters throughout the state.
