Our Employment Connections Division is seeking to hire a part-time/project One Stop Operator for our Olympic Peninsula WorkSource.

Our agency's mission and values drive every decision that we make, determine how we interact with others and are at the core of who we are. Through compassion and patience our Olympic Peninsula WorkSource, which serves Kitsap, Jefferson, and Clallam counties provides our customers with information about the full range of agency services and programs and directs them to the appropriate internal or external resources and support services.
 
Our One-Stop Operator coordinates One-Stop program services, communication and partnership between the One-Stop and affiliate service centers. They work closely with the Olympic Consortium to strategically implement integrated service delivery in a collaborative environment that supports employee engagement and positive performance outcomes. In this unique position they contribute to our vision and mission at the local level by fostering an environment that encourages innovation and continuous improvement. They are the liaison, providing consultation to local management, and ensuring the policies, procedures and regulations are carried out to meet local One-Stop needs.

As the One-Stop Operator you will oversee and direct all One-Stop program activities to include system contracts, programs, and services to meet or exceed performance measures. Establishing measurable goals and expectations, and initiatives in support of the system mission and vision will be part of your daily activities. You will serve as an expert and coordinate with teams to achieve these performance measures to enhance customer satisfaction.

Duties

What a typical day may look like:

  • Develop and support high performance, integrated work-team management approaches, consensus-based decision making, and continuous quality improvement practices.
  • Provide guidance on the development of a broad range of employment and training services to meet the needs of residents and employers to be provided in the One-Stop Center(s).
  • Address internal and external customer complaints, disputes, and personnel issues.
  • Work with functional leaders to recruit and train additional partners in the local One-Stop system.
  • Develop and implement a system to gather, analyze, and report performance of core partners, center processes, and system services to include quality of service and cost effectiveness.
  • Ensure One-Stop on-site partnerships are integrated and seamlessly incorporate services for the common customers served by multiple program partners.
  • Network with leadership and participate in community meetings and events.
  • Educate the public about the WorkSource delivery system.

Qualifications


Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business or Public Administration, Industrial/Organizational Psychology, or closely related field.
  • Four (4) years of experience in planning, operations, management, coordination and consultation with a variety of public and private agencies, organizations, and/or levels of government.

OR

  • Master's degree in Business or Public Administration, Industrial/Organizational Psychology, or closely related field.
  • Two (2) years of experience, in planning, operations, management, coordination and consultation with a variety of public and private agencies, organizations, and/or levels of government.

OR 

  • A combination of education and/or relevant experience equal to no less than eight (8) years.


Desired Qualifications:

  • One-stop operator experience.
Additional Requirements of Employment:
  • The ability to travel daily to provide services to our customers and community partners.
  • Must pass an Unemployment Insurance (UI) Fraud Check.

Insurance Benefits

Retirement and Deferred Compensation
 
State Employees are members of the Washington Public Employees' Retirement System (PERS).  New employees have the option of two employer contributed retirement programs.  For additional information, check out the Department of Retirement Systems' web site.
 
Employees also have the ability to participate in the Deferred Compensation Program (DCP).  This is a supplemental retirement savings program (similar to an IRA) that allows you control over the amount of pre-tax salary dollars you defer as well as the flexibility to choose between multiple investment options.
 
Vacation (Annual Leave)
 
You begin accruing vacation starting your first month of employment. Since we value your loyalty, the amount of vacation you can accrue increases the longer you work with us. Washington State supports members of the armed forces with 21 days paid military leave per year. Vacation accrues for full-time employees per WAC 357-31-165.
