Recent and upcoming changes to bus services

Changes to bus services are listed by month, with additional pages for Christmas, New Year and Easter.
Bus services are liable to change at short notice, and any changes will be added throughout the month.  

Revised timetables for changes

Revised timetables should be available on Traveline and on our bus map and timetable pages two weeks before the amendment date, or you can email publictransport@staffordshire.gov.uk for a timetable.

from 1 April

  • Service 123 (Cheadle town service) will be operated by Stantons of Stoke with the same route and timetable.

From 6 April

  • Arriva Midlands services 5/5A/5E (Stafford - Telford) will revert to their normal route in Telford following the end of roadworks in Snedshill.

from 7 April

  • National Express WM service X51 (Cannock - Birmingham) will operate a revised route and timetable due to roadworks in Birmingham city centre.

from 14 April

  • Diamond Bus service 12E (Burton - Lichfield) will operate a new hourly Sunday service.
  • Diamond Bus service 827 (Horninglow - Branston) will have a slight route revision.

from 15 April

  • South Derbyshire Coaches (formerly Lichfield City Coaches) service 82 will have a slight route change in Clifton Campville. The Green Man will no longer be served.

from 28 April

  • First Potteries service 11 (Hanley - Newcastle) will have a revised timetable.
  • New First Potteries services 36 / 36A will operate an evening Monday to Saturday service between Meir, Hanley and Kidsgrove.
  • Diamond Bus services 401 / 402 / 402A (Burton - Uttoxeter) will have slight timetable revisions.

  • Service 405 (D&G Bus, Uttoxeter - Olive Park) will have a revised route in Uttoxeter.

  • Seasonal service 32A (D&G Bus) will commence between Hanley, Cheadle and Alton Towers, with a revised timetable.
  • Seasonal service X41 (D&G Bus) will commence between Stafford, Uttoxeter and Alton Towers.

  • Swift service (Trent Barton, Uttoxeter - Derby) will have a revised timetable.

• Service 2 (Tamworth - Perrycrofts) will have a revised route and timetable. The route will be extended to serve the new Arkall Park estate and Ventura Park, and a new Sunday timetable will be introduced.

• Service 3 (Tamworth - Coton Green) will have a revised timetable.

• Service 65 (Tamworth - Nuneaton) will have a revised timetable.

• Service 110 (Tamworth - Birmingham) will have a slight route change around Ventura Park.

From 7 January 2024

Diamond Bus services

• Services 31/32 (Lichfield City circulars) will have a revised route and timetable. Diamond Bus will operate off peak daytime journeys only with additional journeys operated by Chaserider.

• Services X12 (Lichfield - Burton) will have a revised timetable. 

National Express WM services

• Service 3 (Streetly - Lichfield) will have a revised route and timetable, to serve the new Deans Slade estate in Lichfield.

• Service X3 (Lichfield - Birmingham) will have a revised route and timetable, to serve the new Deans Slade estate in Lichfield.

Select Bus services

• Service 7 (Stafford - Moss Pit) will have a revised timetable.

• Services 8/8A (Stafford - Parkside) will have a revised route and timetable, with some 8A journeys extended to serve Pets at Home, and additional evening journeys.

• Service 9 (Stafford - Highfields) will have a revised timetable with additional evening journeys.

• Service 875 (Stafford - Cannock) will have a revised timetable with additional evening journeys.

• Service 103 (Stone - Eccleshall) will have a revised route and timetable with some journeys serving Norton Bridge.

 From 8 January 2024

Chaserider services

• Service 36 (Lichfield - Walsall) will have a slight timetable change, with the 1730 journey from Walsall diverting to serve Wall.

• Services 31/32 (Lichfield City circulars) will operate morning and late afternoon journeys with a revised route.

• New service 830 will operate 1 return journey between Hill Ridware, Rugeley and Hednesford, Monday to Saturday.

D&G Bus services

• New route 95 will be operated between Audley, Chesterton, Kidsgrove, Mow Cop and Biddulph, hourly Monday to Saturday.

From 9 January 2024

Diamond Bus service

• Service 808 (Streetly - Lichfield) will have a revised timetable.

From 21 January 2024

First Potteries services

• Service 7 (Kidsgrove - Hanley) will have a revised timetable.

• Service 7A (Biddulph - Hanley) will have a revised timetable.

• Service 25 (Keele - Hanley) will have a revised timetable.

• Service 37 (Longton - Lymedale) will have a revised timetable.

  • Most National Express WM services will operate a modified Sunday service. Service 8 will operate Walsall to Brownhills only and service 25 (to i54) won’t operate.

Normal Monday to Friday services will operate on:

Most evening services will finish early (around 6-7pm), except:

  • National Express WM will operate full Sunday timetables.
  • Trent Barton services will continue until 8-9pm.

New Year’s Day    

No Services will operate, except.

  • National Express WM will operate modified Sunday services.
  • Stoke City FC shuttle buses operated by First Potteries. 

From Tuesday 2 January

Normal services will resume, except

  • National Express WM will operate modified timetables until 5th January.

  • Service 7A (D&G Bus, Biddulph - Hanley) will have a revised Sunday timetable.
  • Service 18 (First Potteries, Leek - Hanley) will have a revised Monday to Saturday timetable.
  • Service 18 (D&G Bus, Leek - Hanley) will have a revised Sunday timetable, with the Leek to Buxton section cancelled but additional journeys between Leek and Hanley.
  • Service 101 (First Potteries, Stafford - Hanley) will have a revised timetable.

from 6 November

  • New services 5/5A will be operated between Codsall and Wolverhampton by Banga Bus and Chaserider. Banga Bus will operate a daytime service, half hourly on Monday to Friday and hourly on Saturdays. Chaserider will operate an hourly service in the evenings and on Sundays
  • Service 62 (Chaserider, Cannock - Lichfield) will have a revised timetable with additional Saturday journeys.
  • New service 74C (Chaserider) will operate one morning journey on Stafford College Days only between Chase Terrace and Stafford.

from 13 November

  • Service 10 (Diamond Bus, Burton - Rough Hay) will have revised journey times to/from John Taylor Free School, with additional 10S journeys not operating via Burton Rail Station or New Street.

  • Service 445 (Hanchurch - Madeley) will have a revised timetable.

Diamond Bus routes

  • Service 10 (Burton -Rough Hay) will have minor Monday to Friday timetable revisions.
  • Services 12 / 12E (Burton – Lichfield) will have minor timetable revisions.
  • Service 19A (Burton - Mercia Park) will have a revised timetable and a revised route to serve a loop around Mercia Park.
  • Service 20 (Tamworth - Mercia Park) will have a revised timetable and a revised route to serve a loop around Mercia Park.
  • Service 402A (Burton – Uttoxeter) will have minor Monday to Friday timetable revisions.
  • Service 818 (Fradley – Friary School) will have a revised timetable.
  • Service 821 (Swadlincote – Castle Gresley) will be cancelled.
  • New service 831 will operate 1 return journey between Hilton, Burton and John Taylor Free School on Schooldays only.

First Potteries route

  • Services 3 / 3A (Hanley - Crewe) will have a revised timetable.

Lichfield City Coaches routes

  • New service 81 will operate 1 return journey between Edingale and John Taylor High School on Schooldays only.
  • New services 82 / 84 will operate between Tamworth, Elford, Edingale and Clifton Campville, Monday to Friday.
  • New service 88 will operate between Tamworth and Drayton Bassett on Tuesdays only.

Select Bus routes

  • Services 813 / 878 (Stafford - Wolverhampton) will have a revised route and timetable for additional journeys to serve Rodbaston College.
  • Service 817 / 817A (Rodbaston College services) will operate a revised route and timetable. The 817 morning journey will commence from Uttoxeter and the afternoon journey will continue from Rugeley to Abbots Bromley and Uttoxeter rather than Stafford. Service 817A (Wed only) will operate terminate in Rugeley rather than  Stafford and also operate via Lichfield.
  • Service 406 (Uttoxeter town circular) will be operated by Select Bus instead of Diamond Bus with some timetable revisions.

from 18 September

Lichfield City Coaches routes

  • Service 81 (Edingale - Tamworth) will have revised times. The morning journey will depart from Edingale School at 0750, arriving at John Taylor High School at 0840. The afternoon journey will leave John Taylor School at 1600 and arrive at Edingale at 1655.

from 24 September

First Potteries route

  • Service 25 (Hanley - Keele) will have a revised timetable.

  • New service 105 will operate 1 return journey between Handsacre and Netherstowe School on Schooldays only.
