Businesses can reopen, in their currently approved square footage, after they meet each of the steps. They do not need a formal inspection before they open as long as they have followed the guidelines and have made no significant physical modifications to a facility. In addition to adequate “social distancing” to reduce the spread of the COVID-19 virus, businesses also need to avoid any unpermitted physical modifications that could have life safety impacts, such as slowing exit from the building in the event of any fire.

No physical modifications have/will be made to my business to accommodate COVID 19 protection plan and industry guidelines. My business is currently in operation and no physical modifications are needed to accommodate social distancing.

Minor physical modifications will/have been made within my walls (movement or elimination of tables, furnishings and or racks etc.) and I have the ability to achieve industry guidelines without a fire risk.

Significant physical modifications have/will be made within the walls of my business including new interior construction and requires a permit and inspection from appropriate agencies prior to re-opening and completing self-certification.
