July 26, 2020, is the 30th Anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). This civil rights law prohibits discrimination against people with disabilities in all areas of public life, including jobs, schools, transportation, and all public and private places that are open to the general public.
The ADA National Network is asking people to share comments about the impact of the ADA in our communities, businesses, and daily lives. Join the celebration by posting your thoughts and images to your social media pages. Be sure to tag us on Twitter: @DDS_DC and @DirectorReese; and on Facebook @DDS.DC. Remember to include:#ThanksToTheADA in your comments.
The ADA is the living testament to our Nation's commitment that we will always stand up for our neighbors' right to live fulfilling lives.
