Overview

Southwark Stands Together is a borough wide initiative in response to the killing of George Floyd, the injustice and racism experienced by Black, Asian and minority ethnic communities and to the inequalities exposed by COVID-19.

This survey is one part of our listening exercise to hear about the lived experiences of individuals who live, work and visit Southwark in a bid to understand what needs to change,  identify solutions to address entrenched, persistent racism and injustice and understand how Southwark can stand together to deliver a fairer and more equal society.

Why your views matter

We want to listen, to learn, to engage, to challenge and to educate.  Southwark stands together is about all organisations, community groups and individuals across the borough committing to identify, and then implement solutions to address entrenched racism and injustice and take positive action to ensure equality of opportunity.

You can help make this happen by sharing your experiences, being as specific as possible about how these issues have affected you, and what you think needs to happen to make Southwark a fairer place for people of all backgrounds.

There will be events around the borough - look out for boards and boxes so you can take part offline too.

What happens next

We will put in place a framework that creates a programme of actions, education and initiatives translating our firm commitments into real, sustainable outcomes.

Our road map will be considered by Cabinet in September.
