1. Public footpath closures

Marple

Bridleway 127

We've made an order under Section 14 (1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended by the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991.

We'll temporarily close part of Bridleway 127 Marple, between BOAT 119 Maple and Footpath 132 Marple, for approximately 125 metres. Traffic signs to that effect will be in place on or near the bridleway.

This order is necessary to undertake resurfacing works.

It is anticipated that the maximum duration of the works will be 6 months.

This order is to come into operation on 15 March 2024 and will have effect for 6 months. If all necessary works are completed within a shorter period than that, this order shall cease to have effect at the end of that shorter period.

For an alternative route, pedestrians may divert using BOAT 119 Marple and Footpath 132 Marple. No viable alternative route is available for cyclists and equestrians.

Hazel Grove and Bramhall

Footpath 50

We've made an order under Section 14 (1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended by the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991.

We'll temporarily close the complete length of Footpath 50 Hazel Grove and Bramhall between Bramhall Park Road and Footpath 51 Hazel Grove and Bramhall, whilst traffic signs to that effect are in place on or near the said public footpath.

This order is necessary to allow works by SMBC contractors.

This order is to come into operation on 7 March 2024 and will have effect for 6 months. If all necessary works are completed within a shorter period than that, this order shall cease to have effect at the end of that shorter period.

Alternative routes will be provided from:

  • the western end of footpath 50 Hazel Grove and Bramhall north on footpath 51 Hazel Grove and Bramhall to Linney Road, then east to Bramhall Park Road and then south to the eastern end of footpath 50 Hazel Grove and Bramhall

The reference number for this order is ZA 2169579.

This Order is to come into operation on the 7 March 2024 and will have effect for six months, provided that if all necessary works are completed within a shorter period this Order shall cease to have effect at the end of that shorter period.
