Wine sector: evaluation of the CAP measures (Nov. 19)

The AGRI Committee invited DG AGRI (EC) to present its evaluation of the CAP measures applicable to the wine sector. The EU is the world’s leading producer, consumer and exporter of wine. We are however assisting to a change in this trend with a declining on domestic consumption and growing opportunities on the world market, and therefore the wine sector is increasingly focusing on competitiveness and quality rather than on volumes of production.

We heard how CAP measures impact on the reality of the wine sector.
