How can I apply for the grant?

All applications must be made online. The application form can be accessed on the Council's website.

You will be presented with some information about what you need to have access to before you start. Read this and then click "Next":

You will then be presented with the Data Protection Statement which you should read and then press "Next". If at any point you would like to go back in your application click on "Previous".

You will be presented with this screen:

Select "No" if you do not have a Business Rates Account and the screen will be expanded for you to complete your Business Details and confirm that you are applying for a grant for that Business.
All boxes with a red asterisk are mandatory fields and must be completed. As you enter the information requested you will notice green ticks on the right. If you do not complete the information you will see a red cross and will not be permitted to continue with your application unless you enter information in the box.
Details have been completed in this example using the Markets Office address. Click "Next"

You will then be asked for further information about your business:

As you complete the form you will be presented with further boxes depending how you answer the questions. In this example I am assuming that Market Traders are Self Employed or Sole Traders so when this box is ticked you will be presented with the following screen where you will need to complete your National Insurance Number and upload photo ID by clicking the box next to "drop files here to upload"
Continue through the questions. If you are VAT Registered please click "yes" to that question and a new Box will appear asking you to enter your VAT Registration Number. The example below assumes "No":

After completion Click "Next" and you will be presented with more questions:

Different boxes will appear as the information is entered but for this example, I have entered the following information. You are required to enter the information applicable to your application.
If you received a grant under the previous Business Discretionary Scheme and answer "Yes" you will be presented with two dropdown boxes about the nature of your Business which you must select from. In this example Market Trader - Homeware has been selected:

If you did not receive a grant under the previous Business Discretionary Scheme and answer "No" then you will be presented with the following screen and must upload a copy of your most recent company accounts or your Self-Assessment Income Tax Return (including the section on Self-Employment) by clicking on the "upload" button:

If you click yes to the question "Are you able to trade online?" then you will be asked if you have been. By clicking Yes when asked if your Business suffered significant loss in revenue you will be presented with a box to provide details as below:

You will then be asked to upload documents to support your claim as shown on the screen below. If you had earlier declared that you are VAT registered, you will be requested to upload previous VAT returns.

Once you have attached documents as below please click "Next"

You will then be asked to complete your contact details on the screen below. Please enter these and click "Next":

You will then be asked to enter your bank details and upload a copy of a recent bank statement so that we can check those details. Please do this and click "Next":

You will then be required to make a declaration by ticking all the boxes as shown below and then click "Submit":

After clicking Submit a screen will be displayed showing you your Reference Number, information about what happens next and details of your application:

You can download a copy of your application if you wish by selecting "Download pdf" but if you do not wish to do this please select "continue" and you will be taken back to the RBKC website:
