Work begins next week on US 36 in Avon

HENDRICKS COUNTY, Ind. – The Indiana Department of Transportation announces work begins on or after Wednesday, April 28 on U.S. 36 in Avon. This project spans from Shiloh Park Dr. to just east of Raceway Road. Work is scheduled to begin nightly between the hours of 9 p.m. until 6 a.m. on an added travel lanes project in town while the contractor strengthens the outside shoulder. Then work will occur during the daytime with two lanes of traffic in each direction.

The primary purpose of the project is to reduce delays and improve the safety on U.S. 36 with a focus on the heavily congested portion between the Ronald Reagan Parkway and Raceway Road.

White Construction Inc.  was awarded the $8.6 million contract.  This work is scheduled to be completed in October of this year.
