Weatherize: to make (a house) better protected against weather. Weatherization makes the home more comfortable and less costly to heat and cool. Weatherization is to protect a home or building it from outside elements - particularly from sunlight, precipitation, wind, and modifying it to reduce energy consumption and optimize energy efficiency.
First-Line Weatherization
Skilled staff and trained volunteers identify key areas of air loss around a dwelling and make energy repairs all year long including:
weather-proofing & repairing doors & windows
hanging interior, plastic window covers
caulking around open seams
replacing broken or missing window glass
replacing furnace filters
minor repairs to drywall & open flooring
