2022 California Resilience Challenge Showcase (3/30/23)

The California Resilience Challenge is an initiative of the Bay Area Council Foundation, supported by businesses, utilities, and non-profit organizations, to support climate adaptation in under-resourced communities across California. The Challenge has awarded over $5 million in grants to over 32 communities since its launch in 2020. The 2022 Showcase featured some of the most innovative early stage climate adaptation plans in California. Topics included panel discussions and presentations from the Challenge’s Steering Committee, final reports from the 2020 class of grant winners, and the 2022 grantees. Headed Downtown: A Briefing on BART and MUNI Service Updates (3/3/23)

While Downtown San Francisco is still struggling to recover from the economic impacts of the pandemic and rise of remote work, there are reasons to be hopeful that more professionals are now returning to offices and a diverse mix of activities can help revitalize the city’s economic core. Transit agencies are also making new service and routes changes and safety and cleanliness improvements to make it easier than ever for commuters, residents, and tourists to come downtown.
At this virtual briefing, the Bay Area Council heard about important new updates to BART and MUNI service that will make it faster, easier, and more comfortable to return to Downtown San Francisco, whether it’s for work or play.
